Some people think that the best is in the past. No, the best is yet to come. As we look up to Jesus, the best is in the way. I can only know Jesus increasingly in the future. What I know of Him now is preparatory. I will certainly know and serve Him better in the future. My God is the God of the present and of the future. He will handle the past. He is handling the present and will handle the future. He has the best in store.
He says, “I know the plans I have for you.” These plans cannot be in the past. Plans are always for the future. His plans are those of welfare, to give you a future and an inheritance. Jesus is my future. He is your future. Let us look to Him and praise Him.
